John was such a caring and encouraging addition to St John's church when he and Thelma retired and moved into Court Av. Old Coulsdon. He asked me to assist him when he started a small group on the Toldene estate which eventually evolved into our Messy church. It was such an honour and privilege to know him. He was a wonderful friend and wise colleague supported in all he did by Thelma. May he rest in peace and rise again in glory.
